The chart shows the percentages of commuters using four types of transport in London in 1960，1980 and 2000. Write a report outlining the main features of the data presented and making comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.

The bar chart indicates the percentage of commuters using four types of transport: train, car, tube and bus in London in I960, 1980 and 2000. Certain patterns are evident from those figures.

Car is a popular transport in London and the percentage of people who driving car to work bear an upward trend from 1960 to 2000. In 1960, there was only 7% commuters using car. But the figure jumped to 23% dramatically in 1980 and continued to soar in 2000(38%)

On the contrary，the figure of bus decreased considerably during the same period. In 1960, approximately 34% of people choose bus as a basic transport to work. However, the figure dropped noticeably by 7% to just 27% during the next 20 years, before a sharp fall to 15% in 2000.

Comparing to car and bus, the percentage of train and tube remained relatively stable. The figure of train in 1980(28%) outpaced that in 1960(19%) by 9%. But in 2000, there was a slight decrease to 22%. The percentage of tube had a opposite situation : the figure in 1980(22% ) was 0.6% less than that in 1960(28% ) .But the year 2000 saw people taking tube rose slightly to 25%.

Overall, we can see that car is becoming more and more popular whilst bus gradually lost its dominant role. Although the use of train and tube underwent ups and downs during 1960 - 2000, they are still the main transport and shoulder an heavy responsibility in London.
